Frank Lynch (singer)

Franklin Lynch was an American soul singer from Boston who worked with Weather Report's Herschel Dwellingham on the 1968 single "Young Girl." In 1970, while interred at Boston City Hospital, Lynch was shot and killed by police officer Walter Duggan, who was acquitted by judge Elijah Adlow because "he stood to be a discredited man in the Police Department." Duggan's acquittal caused widespread condemnation by the Boston Black United Front and senators Ted Kennedy and Edward Brooke, and led to a community mock trial demanding accountability.
"Young Girl" was rerecorded by Eli "Paperboy" Reed for his 2010 album Come and Get It.
