At the 2000 census there were 10,978 people, 4,368 households, and 2,948 families living in the CDP. The population density was 2,981.7 people per square mile. There were 4,503 housing units at an average density of 1,223.0/sq mi. The racial makeup of the CDP was 95.72% White, 0.87% African American, 0.05% Native American, 2.22% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.31% from other races, and 0.82% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.06%.
Of the 4,368 households 34.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.3% were married couples living together, 8.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 32.5% were non-families. 29.4% of households were one person and 16.3% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 2.49 and the average family size was 3.12.
