Florian Heinemann


Florian Heinemann is a German entrepreneur, venture capitalist and angel investor.
Heinemann was significantly involved in companies such as JustBooks, Zalando, Rocket Internet and Project A Ventures. As a business angel Heinemann has, according to his own information, invested in around 100 technology startups. He is a regular speaker and keynote speaker at conferences on entrepreneurship, venture capital, digital marketing and technology. Heinemann is married and lives in Berlin.

Education and career

In 1999 he received a degree in business administration from the WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management Koblenz. From 2002 to 2006 he wrote his doctorate thesis in Management and Entrepreneurship under the title “Organisation von Projekten zur Neuproduktentwicklung” at the HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management in Leipzig and at the RWTH Aachen University. In 2005 he was a visiting scholar at the Sol C. Snider Entrepreneurial Research Center at Wharton Business School in Philadelphia.
Florian Heinemann is a general partner of the early stage investor Project A Ventures in Berlin, where he is responsible for the areas marketing, CRM and business intelligence. Before founding Project A Ventures, he was a managing director at Rocket Internet. While at Rocket Internet he was mainly involved in the development of Zalando, Global Fashion Group and eDarling/Affinitas.
Before Rocket Internet, Florian Heinemann was a co-founder and managing director of JustBooks, where he was responsible for marketing and product. After that he was responsible for the online marketing at Jamba! and the Online Dating Portal iLove. In 2006 he co-founded the online marketplace Antibodies Online.

Florian Heinemann has invested, as a business angel, in around 100 start-ups. Most of the companies are based in Germany. These include companies such as Trivago, Zalando, Audibene, Home24, CityDeal / Groupon, Betreut.de/Care.com, ClassPass, Mimi Hearing, Bitbond and Lillydoo. Florian Heinemann is one of the founding investors at the CODE University of Applied Sciences in Berlin.
