Firozpur Janata Express


The 19023 / 19024 Firozpur Janata Express is an express train belonging to Indian Railways that run between Mumbai Central and Firozpur Cantonment in India.
It operates as train number 19023 from Mumbai Central to Firozpur Cantonment and as train number 19024 in the reverse direction serving the states of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi & Punjab.
It is one of the Janata series of trains thus it has only non air-conditioned coaches. Janata means "common people" in Devanagari.

Traction

Earlier dual traction WCAM 1 or WCAM 2/2P locos haul the train from Mumbai Central until Vadodara Junction after which a Vadodara or Ghaziabad based WAP 4 would take over until New Delhi after which a WDM 3A from the Tuglakabad shed took over until Firozpur Cantonment.
Since the changeover of Western Railways to AC traction in February 2012, it now gets a Ghaziabad based WAP 5 or based WAP 7 locomotive until Bathinda Junction after which a WDM 3A locomotive from the Tughlakabad / Ludhiana shed takes over until Firozpur Cantonment.
