It is found in Algeria, Libya, Malta, Morocco, Tunisia, France and Italy. Its natural habitats are temperate forests, temperate shrubland, subtropical or tropical dry shrubland, Mediterranean-type shrubby vegetation, temperate grassland, caves, subterranean habitats, arable land, rural gardens, and irrigated land.
