Fairfield School District


The Fairfield School District is a community public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade from Fairfield Township, in Essex County, New Jersey, United States.
As of the 2014-15 school year, the district's two schools had an enrollment of 1,240 students and 57.6 classroom teachers, for a student–teacher ratio of 21.5:1.
The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "GH", the third-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.
Students in public school for seventh through twelfth grades attend the West Essex Regional School District, a regional school district in western Essex County serving students from Essex Fells, Fairfield, North Caldwell and Roseland. Schools in the district are
West Essex Middle School and
West Essex High School.
