Ernst Höllerhagen

Ernst Höllerhagen was a German jazz reedist.
Höllerhagen played violin as a child before switching to clarinet and alto saxophone, playing with Sam Wooding when he was 18 years old. In the 1930s he worked with Kurt Engel, Goldene Sieben, Coleman Hawkins, Kurt Hohenberger, Jack Hylton, Juan Llosas, and Teddy Stauffer. He continued playing regularly in the 1940s, both with his own ensembles and as a sideman for Philippe Brun, Eddie Brunner, Willie Lewis, and Hazy Osterwald.
