Ende Gelände
Ende Gelände is a German civil disobedience movement occupying coal mines to raise awareness for climate justice. Ende Gelände has been organizing mass civil disobedience actions against coal mines in Rhineland, Lusatia and Leipzig since 2015. Some actions have had up to 5500 participants.Organisation
Ende Gelände is organised by an alliance of different anti-coal groups in Germany: grassroots climate action groups, large environmental organisations, left-wing groups and others. Big organisations like Fridays For Future, Greenpeace and Bund für Umwelt und Naturschutz Deutschland have expressed solidarity with the movement.Actions
