Emir Dizdarević


Emir Dizdarević, is a Bosnian chess Grandmaster who representing Croatia from 2006 to 2008, two-times Bosnia and Herzegovina Chess Championship winner, Chess Olympiad team silver medalist.

Biography

Emir Dizdarević made his first major success in chess tournaments in the 1980s. In 1987, he shared 1st place in International Chess Tournament in Pleven. In 1988, in Sarajevo Emir Dizdarević shared 1st - 3nd place in International Chess Tournament Bosna. In 1989, he shared 2nd place in International Chess Tournament in Zenica. In 1992, Dizdarević won International Chess Tournament in Ljubljana. In 2000, in New Delhi Emir Dizdarević participated in FIDE World Chess Championship in which in 1st round won to Lev Psakhis but in 2nd round lost to Boris Gelfand. Emir Dizdarević two times in row won Bosnia and Herzegovina Chess Championship. In 2014, he won Bosnian International Chess Tournament Bošnjaci.

In 1982, he was awarded the FIDE International Master title and received the FIDE Grandmaster title six years later.
