In 1975, Josefina V. Suarez, an educator, and her brother-in-law Francisco B. Alido, Sr., a businessman, collaborated to establish a preschool in Bacoor, Cavite. They named the school after Mother Elizabeth Ann Seton, an American saint who established a religious community of teaching sisters and laid the foundation of the Catholic parochial system in America. The school started with two classes in school year 1975-1976 with 14 pupils in the morning and 20 pupils in the afternoon both handled by Mrs. Suarez while both families attended to other tasks connected with running a school. Enrollments increased each year. Additional teachers were hired and levels were added each school year. In 1979, the school opened its doors to the first batch of grade school students. During its formative stages, the school had to transfer to four different sites to accommodate its steadily increasing population, until it settled in its permanent location in BF Resort Village, Las Piñas in 1987 which also housed the first batch of high school students. From then on, the school proclaimed its status as a Catholic School. A new chapel which was blessed by his Eminence Jaime Cardinal Sin and Monsignor Josefino Ramirez of the Archdiocese of Manila in 1989. After receiving its Level I Accreditation from the Philippine Accrediting Association of School, Colleges and Universities in July 1997, the school management decided to break grounds for another campus to ease the congestion in the Las Piñas campus and to serve the needs of residents farther south. In June 1998 the Elizabeth Seton School-Cavite campus at Anabu II-D, City ofImus, Cavite opened its doors to a new batch of Setonians. Ten years later, on February 15, 2008 Bishop Luis Antonio Tagle and Monsignor Josefino Ramirez inaugurated the blessing of the Cavite campus two-story chapel. In 2013, longtime school consultant and mentor to Dr. Suarez, educational leader Dr. Roberto T. Borromeo was installed as the second president of the school. The school is accredited at Level II Accreditation by PAASCU for its Las Piñas campus, while the Cavite campus has been granted Level I Accreditation. The school won the first Excellence in Educational Transformation Award and is considered the most transformative school in the country.

The curriculum is compliant with the prescriptions of the Philippine’s Department of Education.
The House System has a point system that determines the performance of each house. At the end of each year, the house with the highest number of points is declared as the Mother Seton Cup champion.
Zest for Learning and Living
The Zest for Learning and Living program aims to enhance multi-intelligence skills. The program is divided in three areas. Given a particular area of discipline, students plan their own activities, chart their course of actions and determine their procedure, evaluate the outcomes and make recommendations on how they can do better.
Business Simulation
The Technology and Livelihood Education Entrepreneurship – Business Simulation involves all Grade 10 students in the activities of setting up a business. The tasks are divided into four teams. There are also tasks for the entire class that will integrate the decision of the whole business team.
Robotics
The Robotics program is designed for Junior and Senior High School students to learn skills which include the 4C’s - Collaboration, Communication, Critical Thinking, and Creativity.
Theater Production
In 1987, the production entitled “Indak Himig” showcased various Filipino songs, music and dance. This was followed by another production, entitled “Under Asean Sky” which featured the different culture of Asean countries through music and dance. Both productions were directed by National Artist Ramon Obusan. On the 30th anniversary of founding of the school in 2005, the production “On Wings of Music” presented excerpts from Filipino and Broadway musicals. After five years, the school produced “Milestones and Music” which highlighted its history for 35 years. All four productions were presented at Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo of The Cultural Center of the Philippines. The 40th anniversary show was presented at The Theater at Solaire.40tude is an Attitud is a two-part musical documentary. Through the creative organization of segments, the show was designed to be interactive. Each song and production numbers is stringed by poetry readings, voice overs, video segments, live feeds and interviews.
40th anniversary celebration
On 30 January 2016, the school celebrated its 40th anniversary at Solaire Resort & Casino theatre on a three-hour two-part musical documentary show performed by selected students from both campuses.
