Premise

The basic concept behind the EPDT is that by teaching African farmers to grow chili peppers as a barrier crop. It provides them with a defense against elephants foraging on their crops, preventing conflict with the elephants. The program is also intended to make additional revenue through the sale of the peppers and hot sauces produced from them.
