Edith Dekyndt


Edith Dekyndt is a Belgian visual artist.
She was born in Ypres and studied visual communications before attending the. In 1987, she went to Italy she undertook research into Piero della Francesca. She subsequently collaborated with architects such as Olivier Bastin in a studio in Brussels.
In her art, Dekyndt works with everyday objects as they are transformed by the passage of time, documenting her activities with video, photography, sound and installation.
She is currently represented by Carl Freedman in the UK. She has had solo exhibitions at the DAAD in Berlin, the Wiels in Brussels, Le Consortium in Dijon, the Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art in Rotterdam and the in Grand-Hornu. She was also invited to take part in the 2017 Venice Biennial. Her work is included in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art and the FRAC Franche-Comté, as well as several other FRACs.
