Dumri is a community development block in Gumla district in the Indian state of Jharkhand.

To the east Dumri has Chainpur block, north border has Mahuwadanr and south-west has the border of Chhattisgarh.

Demographics

census, Dumri block had a total population of 69, 252, out of which 35, 263 were males and 33, 989 were females. 19, 471 males were literate and 12, 575 females were literate. There is predominance of tribal people in Dumri blck. 55, 596 persons belonged to the scheduled tribes.
In the Paat region primitive tribes, Korba, Asur and Birhor, have been living for centuries. The local administration and the state government have first priority to provide primary facilities to the primitive tribes.

People

Martyr L.N.Albert Ekka, winner of the Param Vir Chakra, India's highest military decoration, was born at Jari village, under Shishi Karamtoli gram panchayat.
