Dulhan (1975 film)


Dulhan is a 1975 Bollywood drama film, produced by B. Anand Valli under the Sujatha International banner and directed by C. V. Rajendran. It stars Jeetendra, Hema Malini, Jamuna in the lead roles and music composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal. The film is a remake of Telugu movie Sharada, starring Sobhan Babu, Sharada in the pivotal roles.

Plot

Radha's life has been shattered due to the sudden death of her groom Ashok on her wedding night. This impacts too harshly on her mind as she refuses to believe that her to-be husband is no more and she still waits for his return. Later one day, a look-alike of her husband named Vijay enters in the community as well as in her life. But Vijay is already married and also has a young daughter. Later, Vijay comes to know about Radha's tragedy and feels sorry for her. Also, he decides to spend some time with her so that she can regain her mental balance. Meanwhile, Radha starts believing that her husband has come back and now she can start a happy lifestyle along with him.
Vijay agrees to impose as her husband for her treatment. Soon, Radha is taken to his home where he lives with his wife and daughter. Both of them try to cure her.
Towards the climax, Vijay’s mother in law comes home and talks to vijay’s wife that how Radha would take away her husband. Radha overhears this and realises that Vijay ain’t her husband.
She thank the whole family for their support and leave with her brother to her village.
But heartbroken, she suffers from sudden death.
