Dragan Umicevic


Dragan Umičević is a Swedish professional ice hockey player of Serbian descent. He is currently playing for EHC Black Wings Linz in the Austrian Hockey League. Umicevic has represented the Sweden national ice hockey team in 2006 and 2007. With Södertälje SK he won the team's internal scoring league in the 2008–09 Elitserien season. Umičević was drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the sixth round of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, 184th overall.

Playing career

Except 2007 as he played 9 games in Russia, Umicevic played until 2012 always hockey in his home-country Sweden. 2012 he changed in the Finnish SM-Liiga. Here was Umicevic popular as a good assist.
In the end of Season 2013–14 he changed to Switzerland and sign a contract with the EHC Biel for the play-outs. There was 16 scores in 15 games from him and so Biel sign him for the next season.
For the 2015–16 season, he dived into the shark tank and signed a one-year contract with the German team Kölner Haie. In August 2016, he inked a two-year deal with another German side, Krefeld Pinguine.
Following the 2017–18 season, having completed his two-year tenure with Krefeld, Umicevic opted to leave as a free agent and sign a new two-year contract in the neighbouring EBEL with Austrian club, EHC Black Wings Linz, on May 1, 2018.
