Donskoye (air base)

Donskoye is an air base in Kaliningrad Oblast, Russia, located 1 km east of Donskoye. It probably dates back to World War II, and is located nearly at Russia's most extreme western point. The facility contains 25 aircraft pads, and appears to be in a severe state of decay. Its original length was 2000 m, but only 500 m remains. Its pads are occupied by a number of helicopters.
Units stationed at Donskoye in the early 1990s included 396 OKPLVP flying 22 Ka-27 helicopters; and 745 OPLVP flying 15 Mi-14 helicopters and 5 Ka-25 helicopters.
