Dominic Schroeder


Dominic Schroeder is a British diplomat and has been the British Ambassador to Denmark since August 2016. Prior to that he was Ambassador and Head of the United Kingdom's Delegation to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe in Vienna.

Career

Schroeder joined the Foreign & Commonwealth Office in 1988 and has held several appointments including in Kinshasa, New York City, Tehran, Berlin and Bratislava. Schroeder was appointed Her Majesty's Ambassador to Denmark in August 2016.
In June 2017, he was involved in a dispute with the Danish Finance Minister Kristian Jensen at a conference on Brexit after Jensen said “There are two kinds of European nations. There are small nations and there are countries that have not yet realized they are small nations”. Schroeder responded that he saw no indications “of a diminished or diminishing power.”
