Domingo de Lezcano


Domingo de Lazcano was a Spanish jurist who served as a notary mayor of government of Buenos Aires.

Biography

He was born in Buenos Aires, the son of a distinguished family of Basque origin. He had an extensive career as public and government notary in Buenos Aires and Santa Fe, and was also responsible for making the testaments of distinguished politicians and military of Buenos Aires, including Miguel de Riglos, who granted his will on 31 July 1719. He also made the deeds between the South Sea Company and the Buenos Aires City Council.
His great-grandson, Mariano de Lezcano was married to Dominga Canaveris, daughter of Juan de Canaveris and Bernarda Esparza, belonging to a distinguished family of politicians from Buenos Aires. He served in the Buenos Aires Customs under the orders of Justo Pastor Lynch.
