Didier Guillaume


Didier Guillaume is a French politician and since October 2018 French Minister of Agriculture in the government of Prime Minister Édouard Philippe since 2018. In addition to his government role, he is also the President of the Drôme General Council.

Political career

In 2008, after his election as senator, Guillaume resigned his post as mayor of the commune of Bourg-de-Péage, which is the chef-lieu of the canton of the same name, represented by Guillaume in the General Council. He was a member of the Socialist Party until 2018 and was Vice-President of the Socialist Group in the Senate. He served as vice-president of the Senate from 2011–2014.
Guillaume worked as Manuel Valls’ campaign director in the Socialist Party's primaries for the 2012 presidential election.
