Delhi–Mumbai Expressway


The Delhi–Mumbai Expressway is an under-construction 1,250 km long controlled-access highway connecting the national capital Delhi with India's commercial capital Mumbai. Foundation stone of the project laid by union ministers Nitin Gadkari, Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley on 8 March 2019. Under construction Mumbai Vadodara Expressway has been subsumed in this project. The total cost of the project is expected to be ₹1 lakh crore. It passes through the states of Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra.
This under construction expressway will be a 8-lane greenfield-alignment route in backward areas, which will reduce the current 24 hours travel time to mere 12 hours. This expressway, along with Western Dedicated Freight Corridor will be a vital backbone of the Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor.
After tenders were awarded in December 2018 for the whole highway, it is expected to be completed by 2022.

Haryana

The expressway in Haryana will run parallel to NH248A to its east side. It will begin at Rajiv chowk in Delhi and pass through Gurugram and connect to NH919 from Bhirawati village northeast of Sohna and exit Haryana at Kolgaon south of Ferozpur Jhirka.

The Mumbai–Vadodara Expressway is an under-construction, long, eight-lane, controlled-access expressway, connecting the cities of Vadodara, Gujarat and Mumbai, Maharashtra. The cost of the project is expected to be. Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway was declared as National Expressway 4 on 10 January 2020.

Project status updates

The 6-lane alignment of this expressway will cut the tiger passage between Ranthambore National Park and Ramgarh Vishdhari Wildlife Sanctuary. Wildlife crossing, including wildlife tunnels and bridges, are the solutions that are needed.
