Dassault Systèmes

Dassault Systèmes SE is the 3DEXPERIENCE Company.
A Dassault Group subsidiary headquartered in Vélizy-Villacoublay, France, Dassault Systèmes develops software for 3D product design, simulation, manufacturing and more.
The second-largest software company in Europe, 3DS has 20,000 employees in 140 countries serving more than 250,000 customers.
A pioneer in computer-aided design that was spun off from Dassault Aviation, 3DS has expanded into a diverse range of software categories and industries. Established companies and startups use the company’s 3DEXPERIENCE platform to create, test and optimize consumer and business-to-business products and services.

History

3DS identifies five distinct periods in its history where its software solutions have helped people and business to innovate and contribute to human progress:
Before 2000, the company focused on 3D design software with CATIA and SOLIDWORKS. Over the next decade, new brands were launched: ENOVIA for product data management and collaboration; DELMIA for manufacturing and global operations; and SIMULIA for realistic simulation.
The company later added additional brands: EXALEAD ; NETVIBES ; 3DEXCITE ; GEOVIA ; BIOVIA ; and MEDIDATA *.
3DXPERIENCE platform
In 2012, 3DS launched a digital product innovation platform called the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. The strategy behind the platform is human industry experience: human ; industry ; experience.
Users navigate the 3DEXPERIENCE platform via its interface called the Compass, which groups these brands or apps into four quadrants:
  1. 3D Modeling apps: create and visualize products and experiences
  2. Simulation apps: simulate and test the possible business solutions in the virtual world
  3. Information Intelligence apps: gather and gain insight from data to optimize product development
  4. Social & Collaborative apps: manage data and collaborate with stakeholders in and outside the company
The 3DEXPERIENCE platform is available on premise and on cloud. It is used by large enterprises, mid-size companies, and startups across 11 industry sectors. It functions as both a system of operations and a business model.  As a system of operations, it enables businesses to design and test experiences from ideation, modeling and simulation, delivery and usage. As a business model, it allows businesses to become “platform companies” by connecting stakeholders and removing intermediaries.
3DEXPERIENCE Marketplace
Part of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, the 3DEXPERIENCE Marketplace is an online trading environment for 3D digital design, engineering and manufacturing transactions. Users can identify new manufacturing service providers, search for and add specific components within their design environment, or manage their ecosystem of selected service providers and in-house resources. They can access on-demand manufacturing and part sourcing services.  As of 2019, the 3DEXPERIENCE Marketplace features 50 digital manufacturers with more than 500 machines and 30 million component parts from 600 suppliers.
Additional Products
The company has additional products and brands including Centric PLM ; 3DVIA/HomeByMe ; and DraftSight.
