Daniel de los Reyes


Daniel de los Reyes is an American percussionist.
He is a former member of Earth, Wind & Fire and Chicago. Reyes is currently a member of the Zac Brown Band.

Musical career

Reyes was born in New York City and raised in Puerto Rico and Las Vegas. He is of Cuban and Puerto Rican descent. He received his early drum instruction from his father, Walfredo Reyes, Sr. His grandfather, Walfredo de los Reyes II, was one of the founding members of the Cuban orchestra, Casino de la Playa. As such he's a third generation musician. He is also an alumnus of Valley High School in the Las Vegas town of Winchester.
Reyes first gig as a drummer was for actor and singer Ben Vereen. He eventually played upon Steve Winwood's 1997 album Junction Seven and Yanni's live recording of the same year being Tribute.
Reyes went on to perform with Ricky Martin at the 1999 and 2000 Grammy Awards. Thereafter he played upon Philip Bailey's 2002 LP Soul on Jazz and Earth, Wind & Fire's 2003 album The Promise. As well he performed on the 2004 Earth, Wind & Fire tribute album.
During that same year he played upon the Jimi Hendrix tribute album. Reyes also played at a 2004 benefit show in honour of late Billboard magazine editor Timothy White. During the concert he performed alongside Don Henley, Sting, Billy Joel, Jimmy Buffett, Roger Waters, Sheryl Crow, James Taylor, Brian Wilson and Jennifer Lopez.
Reyes also featured as a drummer on Peter Frampton's 2006 LP Fingerprints and The Killers 2008 album Day & Age. He later played upon Brandon Flowers 2010 debut album Flamingo.
Reyes became an official member of country music outfit the Zac Brown Band in 2012. With the band he's twice been Grammy nominated and has won one of such.
Reyes went on to guest upon Chicago's 2018 tour.

Reyes has also featured with artists in the like of Justo Almario, Gabriela Anders, India.Arie, Lindsey Buckingham, Vikki Carr, Cher and Sheena Easton. Additionally he has performed with artistes such as Gloria Estefan, Lola Falana, David Foster,
Aretha Franklin, Josh Groban,
Faith Hill, Chris Isaak and Patti LaBelle. Reyes has also worked alongside Ronnie Laws, John Mayer,
Tim McGraw, Sérgio Mendes, Wayne Newton
Stevie Nicks and Don Omar. He has as well played with
Donny Osmond, Diana Ross, Lionel Richie
José Luis Rodríguez,
Jon Secada, Shakira and Donna Summer.
He has formed his own entertainment company known as DrumJungle, Inc. and produces the "Rhythm Evolution!" show. De los Reyes has also invented the "Practice Pro Pad" and the LP "One Shot Shaker" musical devices.

Personal life

De los Reyes currently resides in Fayetteville, GA. He is the older brother of actor Kamar de los Reyes.
