Cuban pygmy owl


The Cuban pygmy owl is a species of owl in the family Strigidae that is endemic to Cuba. Its natural habitats are dry forests, moist forests and heavily degraded former forest.
The Pygmy-Owl is the most frequently observed of Cuba's owls. They breed in tree holes formerly used by woodpeckers.
There are three known subspecies of the Cuban pygmy owl: Glaucidium siju siju, Glaucidium siju vittatum, and Glaucidium siju turquinensis.
