Crossover jazz

Crossover jazz is a style of jazz that incorporates elements from other genres to appeal to a bigger audience. Musicians associated with crossover jazz seek a wider appeal with audiences that are not devoted specifically to jazz music, and often sell albums on charts other than jazz, such as pop and R&B. Examples include George Benson, Chris Botti, Candy Dulfer, Michael Franks, Dave Grusin, Earl Klugh, Bob James, Al Jarreau, Lee Ritenour, David Sanborn, Spyro Gyra, and Grover Washington Jr.
