Coventry Health Care, Inc. is a health insurer in the United States. The company has three divisions: Health Plan, Specialized Managed Care Division, and Workers' Compensation Division.
In June 2010, Coventry Health Care acquired MHP, an insurer with approximately 180,000 members in Missouri and northwest Arkansas. Subsequently, on January 1, 2012, Coventry acquired Children's Mercy's Family Health Partners.
In 2013, Coventry Health Care was acquired by Aetna for $5.7 billion.
