Clinton, New Zealand


Clinton is a small town in South Otago, in New Zealand's South Island. It is located on State Highway 1 approximately halfway between Balclutha and Gore, and the Main South Line railway passes through the town.
Clinton was named for Henry Pelham-Clinton, 5th Duke of Newcastle, former British Secretary of State for the Colonies.
The population of Clinton in the 2013 census was 282, a decrease of 12 since 2006.
