Clifton High School (Clifton, Texas)


Clifton High School is a public high school located in Clifton, Texas and classified as a 3A school by the UIL. It is part of the Clifton Independent School District located in southern Bosque County. In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency.

Academics

In 2010, CHS students passed the TAKS at rates above that of the state average in all subjects, having 100% passing rates in Grade 11 Social Studies and Grade 11 English Language Arts.
CHS offers extensive dual credit course opportunities. Dual credit courses are college courses which provide both high school and college credit. At CHS, these courses are typically offered from University of Texas Permian Basin or Hill College.

Athletics

The Clifton Cubs and Lady Cubs compete in the following sports:
The CHS athletic program is currently under the leadership of athletic director and head football coach, Chuck Caniford. The school's teams compete in state championship series tournaments sponsored by the UIL.

Band

Clifton is home to the "Award Winning" Clifton High School Band. The band is currently under the direction of Keith Zuehlke, Bryan Bronstad, and Stephanie Colburn.
