Clement Quartey


Clement Isaac "Ike" Quartey is a former Ghanaian boxer and Ghana's first Olympic medalist. He won the silver medal in the men's Light Welterweight category at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome, Italy.

History

Better known as "Isaac" or "Ike", he was born April 12, 1938 in Accra, Ghana. Clement is an older brother of former welterweight champion Ike Quartey. He not only won a medal at the Olympics, but he also won a gold medal at the 1962 British Empire and Commonwealth Games held in Perth, Western Australia.
