Claudia Jessie


Claudia Jessie is a British actress. She has appeared in a number of television programmes since 2012, most notably playing the lead in the third BBC One series of WPC 56. She stars in ITV series Vanity Fair as Amelia Sedley.

Early life

Claudia Jessie was born in Moseley, growing up on a barge, but later grew up in London. Jessie returned to Birmingham, aged 17. With the encouragement of her mother, who worked cleaning houses to provide ballet lessons for Jessie, she obtained an agent in 2012.

Career

Her television roles have included Doctors, Casualty, and Line of Duty. She has appeared in House of Anubis, including in its Touchstone of Ra television film. She also appears in the BAFTA-winning CBBC Online web series Dixi as Shari.
In 2015, she was cast as WPC Annie Taylor, the lead character in the third series of the BBC One television programme WPC 56. She has featured as guest in Josh, playing the love interest. Jessie has played in the 2014 short film Copy That directed by Kingsley Hoskins which won the Best Comedic Short Film award at TSFA in New York. She appears in the film Their Finest, in which she plays Doris. She appeared in Doctor Who in 2018.

Personal

Jessie has stated that she is a vegan, practices Nichiren Buddhism meditation for at least an hour a day, is a minimalist, an actor, and very friendly, but has endured panic attacks and extreme anxiety since childhood.
