Claude Deschamps


Claude Deschamps, sieur de Villiers, was a 17th-century French actor and playwright.
Specializing in valet roles, he was a member of the troupe du Marais then of the Hôtel de Bourgogne
In 1659 he wrote Festin de pierre ou le Fils criminel, a tragicomedy known to be one of the sources for the Dom Juan by Molière and four burlesques comedies: L'Apothicaire dévalisé, Les Ramoneurs, Les Côteaux ou le Marquis friand and Les Trois Visages
