Cinnabar, Queensland


Cinnabar is a locality in the Gympie Region, Queensland, Australia.

History

The locality was probably named around 1873 using the popular name for sulphide of mercury, because of the mercury deposits in the area.
Cinnabar State School opened in 1916 and closed in 1971.
Cinnabar Upper State School opened in 1922 and closed in 1927.
