Chorrillo Formation


The Chorrillo Formation, also named as Chorillo Formation, is a Maastrichtian geologic formation in southern Patagonia, Argentina. The formation is more than thick and underlies the Calafate Formation and rests on top of the La Irene Formation.

Fossils

The elasmarian ornithopod Isasicursor and the giant titanosaur Nullotitan have been recovered from the Chorrillo Formation, along with the ornithuran bird Kookne and fossils of anurans, lizards, snakes, noasaurids, megaraptorids, and turtles.
