Chennai Tambaram Corporation
The Tambaram Corporation was a planned corporation to be built by the government of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu to expand the Chennai city limit. In 2011, Chennai Corporation extended its limit. In 2017, Pallavaram, Avadi and Tambaram was announced for the upgrade into corporation. But later in year 2019, Tamil Nadu government dropped this plan and decided to retain Tambaram as a municipality while Avadi was upgraded to Corporation. Tambaram municipality is now part of the newly created Chengalpattu district
