Charlie Ewels


Charlie Ewels is an English professional rugby union footballer. He plays at lock for Bath. Charlie grew up in Bournemouth, attending Moordown St Johns School, Bournemouth School and Bryanston School.
Ewels captained Bournemouth School to a number of local successes playing in a number 8 role, forming a 'formidable' partnership with speedster and playmaker Chris Speers. Ewels now captains Bath Rugby in the 2019/20 Gallagher Premiership.

International career

Ewels received his first call up to the senior England squad by coach Eddie Jones on 8 May 2016 for a three-day training squad. He played his first England cap on 19 November 2016.
On 20 April 2017, Ewels was named in the England tour party to Argentina in June for a 2-test series.
On 2 February 2020, Ewels started at Lock in the opening Six Nations Fixture vs France at the Stade de France.
Ewels is also a keen car collector and takes his Mustang to motor shows across the south west, where he regularly poses for photos with fans on the bonnet.
