Char Maijdia


Char Maijdia is a census town in Nabadwip CD Block in Krishnanagar Sadar subdivision of Nadia district in the state of West Bengal, India.

Geography

Nadia district is mostly alluvial plains lying to the east of Hooghly River, locally known as Bhagirathi. The alluvial plains are cut across by such distributaries as Jalangi, Churni, and Ichamati River With these rivers getting silted up, floods are a recurring feature.

Demographics

As per the 2011 Census of India, Char Maijdia had a total population of 5,013, of which 2,599 were males and 2,414 were females. Population below 6 years was 382. The total number of literates in Char Maijdia was 3,818.
