Char Brahmanagar


Char Brahmanagar is a census town in Nabadwip CD Block in Krishnanagar Sadar subdivision of Nadia district in the state of West Bengal, India.

Geography

Nadia district is mostly alluvial plains lying to the east of Hooghly River, locally known as Bhagirathi. The alluvial plains are cut across by such distributaries as Jalangi, Churni and Ichhamati. With these rivers getting silted up, floods are a recurring feature.

Demographics

As per the 2011 Census of India, Char Brahmanagar had a total population of 5,053, of which 2,586 were males and 2,467 were females. Population below 6 years was 458. The total number of literates in Char Brahmanagar was 3,541.
