Chalceus
Chalceus is a genus of characins from South America, where found in a wide range of freshwater habitats in the Orinoco and Amazon Basins, as well as in the Guianas. They typically reach a length of, but are up to about, have an elongated shape, relatively large scales and red fins. They feed on invertebrates, small fish and plant material.Species
