Cathryn Hankla


Cathryn Hankla is an American poet and novelist.
She has taught at the University of Virginia, at Washington & Lee University, and is currently a professor of English at Hollins University, where she received both her bachelor's and master's degrees. She is a former director of the Hollins University Jackson Center for Creative Writing. Her writing has been published in numerous journals including The Chicago Tribune, Ploughshares, Virginia Quarterly Review, The Missouri Review, Alaska Quarterly Review, JuxtaProse Literary Magazine, Shenandoah, Denver Quarterly, Prairie Schooner, and Passages North. She has been honored with numerous awards including a PEN Syndicated Fiction award and the James Boatwright III Prize for Poetry,
