History

In September 1957, Cathedral School For Boys was opened in the Cathedral's bell towers. It was founded by Dean C. Julian Bartlett and parents seeking an alternative to the other private schools in San Francisco. On June 3, 1965 the school's current building was created inside the Cathedral's close.
One year later on September 12, 1966, the new school building was opened. In 1996, the current building was expanded to create rooms for the kindergarten and 8th grade. Recent years have seen a number of new renovations to the campus, including a renovated gymnasium, auditorium, science lab, and media-arts center. Cathedral School for Boys is considered to be one of the finest private elementary schools in the country. https://thebestschools.org/rankings/best-american-private-elementary-schools/
