Cas Anvar


Cas Anvar is a Canadian actor, voice actor, and writer.

Early life

Born in Regina, Saskatchewan, to Iranian parents and raised in Montreal, Quebec, Anvar speaks English, French, Persian, and some limited Arabic, Urdu, and Spanish.
He graduated from Beaconsfield High in 1983.

Career

Anvar graduated from the National Theatre School in 1989. As Repercussion Theatre's founding Artistic Director, he worked with the company, since 1988 touring parks of Montreal, then North America, with annual Shakespeare in the Park Festival. Meanwhile, he continued performing in theatre and, after debuting in Urban Angel in 1992, in television and film.
He is best known as Alex Kamal on The Expanse. Anvar appeared as Dodi Fayed with Naomi Watts in Diana in 2013. From 2014, he is a main character on the science fiction television series The Expanse which began airing in December 2015, and now has its fourth season developed and released as an Amazon Prime production. In 2016, he joined season 3 of The Strain as Sanjay Desai.
Anvar affirms, that he is seeking out stories, where he can get his values across: "I have a lot of passion for women's rights, domestic abuse, bullying".

Sexual misconduct accusations

In June 2020, Anvar was placed under investigation following multiple allegations of sexual harassment and assault.
