Calamity Jane (Lucky Luke)


Calamity Jane is a Lucky Luke comic written by Goscinny and illustrated by Morris. It was originally published in French by Dupuis in 1967. English editions of this French series have been published by Dargaud, and Cinebook in 2007.

Plot

While taking a wash in a river Luke is attacked by some Native Americans. Gun shots scare the attackers away and when Luke meets his mysterious savior it turns out to be a woman, none other than the legendary Calamity Jane. Together they go to a local village, El Plomo, where Calamity Jane wins the saloon thanks to a fight at arm wrestling. August Oyster, the former owner of the establishment tries to make them leave the city. Meanwhile, Lucky Luke is interested in a case of arms trafficking with the Indians.
