Name

As a village subdivision, Bukit Udal is officially known in Malay as Kampung Bukit Udal, which means 'Bukit Udal Village'.

Bukit Udal is administered as a village, the third- and lowest-level administrative division of Brunei. It is one of the subdivisions of Tanjong Maya, a mukim or subdistrict of Tutong District. The community of Bukit Udal is headed by a village head and the incumbent is Juhno bin Perak. Bukit Udal is also a designated postcode area with the postcode TD2341.

Bukit Udal Primary School is a government school which provides general primary education for the resident pupils in the village. It also shares grounds with Bukit Udal Religious School, which provides the ugama or Islamic religious primary education which is compulsory for Muslim pupils in the country.

Kampong Bukit Udal Mosque is the mosque for the Muslim residents of Bukit Udal, mainly for conducting the Jumu'ah or Friday prayers as well as other congregational prayers and communal religious activities. The mosque was opened in 1995 and can accommodate 200 worshippers at one time.
