Buckeburg Formation

The Buckeburg Formation is a stratigraphic unit that preserves many dinosaur footprints, most notably the Münchehagen dinosaur tracksite. The footprints there are largely those of sauropods, however in 1999 Lockley and Wright discovered some ornithopod tracks, too. These are important because they're among the few ornithopod tracks in the world that preserve prints left by the dinosaurs' front feet in addition to the rear.
