Career

Boney previously worked as a political reporter for NITV and SBS, and as a newsreader on the ABC's radio network Triple J.
In December 2018, it was announced that Boney had been appointed as entertainment reporter on the Nine Network's breakfast program Today, to work alongside the network's long-serving entertainment editor Richard Wilkins in 2019.
In January 2019, Boney expressed her opinions on Today regarding the controversial date of Australia Day. Boney's views prompted mixed reactions from viewers and much commentary in the media.

Personal life

Boney is a Gamilaroi woman who grew up in Muswellbrook in New South Wales' Hunter Valley region. She became known for using the traditional Gamilaroi greeting of "Yaama" when introducing herself at the start of Triple J's news bulletins.
