Brandon Nakashima


Brandon Nakashima is an American tennis player.
Nakashima has a career high ATP singles ranking of 218 achieved on 9 March 2020. On the junior tour, he has a career high ITF junior combined ranking of 3 achieved on 31 December 2018. He has won 2 ITF singles title to date.
In October 2018, Nakashima won the ITF Junior Masters, defeating junior world number one Tseng Chun-hsin in the final, 6–2, 6–1.

Collegiate Career

Nakashima graduated high school a semester early where he enrolled at the University of Virginia in January 2019 at the age of 17. During his time there he finished the season with a 17-5 record in singles and 20-3 record in doubles. At the end of the season he received the ACC Freshman of the Year and All ACC First Team awards and was also a part of the All ACC Academic Team. After one semester he decided to forgo his remaining years of eligibility and turn professional.

Professional Career

In February 2020, Nakashima received a wild card to the Delray Beach Open where he reached the quarterfinals defeating Jiri Vesely and Cameron Norrie before falling to Yoshihito Nishioka.

World TeamTennis

Nakashima will be making his World TeamTennis debut in 2020, and will be joining the Chicago Smash for their inaugural season, WTT season begins on July 12 at The Greenbrier.
