Bozan, Iraq


Bozan is a Yazidi village located in the Tel Kaif District of the Ninawa Governorate in northern Iraq. The village is located East of Alqosh and north of Mosul in the Nineveh plains. It belongs to the disputed territories of Northern Iraq.
Bozan has a mainly Yazidi population.

History

The village was originally an Assyrian village known as Bet Bozi according to early literary sources.

Wildlife

The vulnerable wild goat lives in nearby Buzan Mountain.
