Bonnah Kaluwa


Bonnah Kaluwa is representative of the citizens of Segerea Constituence in Parliament of the United Republic of Tanzania since 2015. Prior to winning in the general election, Bonnah was a ward councilor of Kipawa where she led for five years from 2010.

Early life and education

Bonnah was born in 12.29.1978 in Geita region in the family of Moses Kaluwa.She began her education in Kalangalala Primary School in 1985 and graduated in 1991 and continued with High School at Mwenge Secondary School from 1992 to 1996. Having been fascinated by how science and technology that propelled in the country she then joined The University of Dar es Salaam Computing Centre where she got certificate in Business information and Technology CBIT 2007. In 2012 she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in IT and Business Management BSc IT & BM in college Learn IT then joined the Centre for Foreign Relations where she was awarded a Post Graduate Diploma in Management and Foreign Relations where her research involved the Impact of Illegal Immigration to the Human Security.

Individual activities

Bonnah is the CEO and Administration Manager of “For You Classic Boutique”, a chain of boutiques that class only sell top brands of designer handbags and shoes. She is also a Director of S & B Marketing Consultants.

Entry in politics

Bonnah began to be interested in politics from an early age where she was a regular member of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi. In 2010 she decided to officially enter into, competitive politics and ran for in all thirteen wards council of Kipawa ward and emerged with the victory. This was after she was touched by the problems that were facing the citizens and so she decided to be part of the resolution of the grievance.

Development projects for kipawa ward

WAMAMA NA MAENDELEO
As councilor Bonnah initiated WAMAMA NA MAENDELEO which helped conducting entrepreneurship seminars for at least 500 women of KIPAWA ward. Through this project, these women were able to get small loans to carrying on business through unit groups.
MAZINGIRA BORA KWA ELIMU BORA
This project was initiated after Bonnah was touched by how school environments of Kipawa ward were together with the worst conditions which were not friendly for students and teachers. Through this project the achievements made were: Improving the educational facilities and infrastructure, building 7 schools within the ward, Adding classes in schools that had deficient, contribute desks in 2 high schools and 5 primary schools, drilling wells for water in 2 secondary schools and 3 primary schools and contribute desks for students in nursery schools.
ELIMU MWANZO MWISHO
This campaign was done through the sponsored donation from Tigo Company that encouraged progress through exhibition of Dress Up fashion targeting streets. Through this campaign an amount of US $20,000 were obtained through the synergy.
MAJI SAFI NA SALAMA CAMPAIGN
Each household in Kipawa constituency receives water service through boreholes constructed thus removing impediments to the lack of clean and safe water.
CONSTRUCTION OF DISPENSARIES
Kipawa ward has managed to build dispensaries for the first time since independence thus eliminating the inconvenience of going long distances for health care.
BONNAH EDUCATION TRUST FUND
This special fund was established in 2012 with the aim of helping educate children with special needs, orphans and those from families able unjustified. Since its inception it has been able to educate at least 100 children every year.
