Bobby Beggs


Bobby Beggs was an Irish Gaelic footballer. He is one of the ten men to have won an All-Ireland Senior Football Championship for two different counties.
Beggs was a fisherman from Skerries by trade. Originally playing for Dublin, he reached the All-Ireland final in 1934 wherein Dublin lost to Galway, his future team. and subsequently won the 1935 and 1936 Railway Cup with Leinster and Connaught respectfully.. In 1938 Beggs won his first All-Ireland title with Galway against Kerry. He also played on the Galway team of 1941 which was beaten in the All-Ireland final by Kerry. Four years later, he won his second and final All-Ireland, beating his former team, Galway.
