Career

In 1933, at the age of 16, Parry began his senior career with local club Mexborough Athletic. Parry spent three seasons with Mexborough, playing with the club until they folded in 1936. Parry's stay at Frickley was short and on 28 October 1937, Leeds United signed Parry. On 26 December 1938, Parry made his debut for Leeds in a 1–1 draw with Chelsea. Over the course of two seasons, Parry made six First Division appearances for the club.
In June 1939, Parry signed for Chelmsford City. Parry's career with Chelmsford was interrupted by World War II, during which he guested for Southend United and Clapton Orient, making 32 appearances each for both clubs. During Parry's first spell at Chelmsford, he made 101 appearances. In the 1948–49 season, Parry began coaching Chelmsford's reserve side. In 1949, Parry signed for Halstead Town, making 75 appearances over the course of two seasons. On 31 January 1953, Parry made a solitary appearance for Chelmsford City, playing in a 7–1 loss away to Merthyr Tydfil, whilst working as the club's trainer, following Fred Newby missing the train to Wales for the game.
