Berasia


Berasia is a town and a nagar palika in Bhopal district in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India.

History

In the early 18th century, Berasia was a small mustajiri under the authority of the Delhi-based Mughal fief-holder Taj Mohammad Khan. It suffered from anarchy and lawlessness due to regular attacks from highwaymen and plunderers. Dost Mohammad Khan, a Mughal soldier-turned-mercenary of Afghan descent, took on the lease of Berasia for an annual payment of 30,000 rupees. He later annexed several neighboring territories and established the Bhopal State. Berasia state comes under Bais Rajput's. Berasia was named after Bais Rajput name as Baisia. The place of Bais rajput. They was lived in Hawa Mahal was situated near old Berasia. With many attacks by plunderers Dost Mohammad Khan called Bhavani Singh Solanki from MangalGarh State and they fought against them and won the battle against plunders. After some time Bais Rajput left the berasia state and sifted to Narela Village and Berasia comes under the Nawab Rulers. Nawab forwarded all duties to Hindinigaar all the jaagirdaar reported to Hindinigaar for all taxes. The first Hindinigaar of berasia was Jagnath Singh Sisodia. There was several Jaagir of Berasia some of them was Garethiya Jaagir the jaagirdar was Rathod Rajput's.
